LOS ANGELES — Two people were found dead at the home of director Rob Reiner on Sunday and a homicide investigation is underway, law enforcement officials confirmed to NBC News.
A man and a woman, ages 78 and 68, were found deceased inside, according to NBC Los Angeles, which first reported the news, citing multiple law enforcement sources.
Paramedics were called to the Brentwood home on the west side of L.A. around 3:30 p.m. Sunday, and a few minutes later police officers were dispatched.
The Los Angeles Police Department said they responded to a death investigation at the home in the 200 block of South Chadbourne Avenue and found “two decedents” inside.
Their identities have not yet been confirmed and police described the case as “an apparent homicide.”
The LAPD’s Robbery Homicide Division responded to the home, which they described as Reiner’s, and the investigation is ongoing.
The street where Reiner’s home is located was blocked off with caution tape, and several police cars were stationed in the area on Sunday evening.

Reiner, 78, is a longtime actor and director known for his films “The Princess Bride,” “When Harry Met Sally,” and “A Few Good Men,” which was nominated for an Academy Award for best picture.
Reiner is married to producer Michele Singer Reiner, 68, and they share three children. He also adopted a child from his first marriage to ex-wife Penny Marshall.
This year, Reiner appeared in four episodes of the Hulu TV show “The Bear” and in “Spinal Tap II: The End Continues,” which he also directed.
NBC News has reached out to a representative for Reiner for comment.
